Hitotoki.org is a collection of stories submitted by writers around the world about their personal experiences in Tokyo and New York. Each story is accompanied by a profile of the writer and associated with specific location in the city.

  • Stories are plotted onto a map of each city using GPS coordinates and the Google Maps interface.
  • The hitotoki logo combines a roman script contained within the silhouette of Japanese Katakana characters, carved from stones that are traditionally used for personal seals in Japan.
  • Hitotoki started in Tokyo in May 2007. A Japanese-language version and New York version were released later in the year.
