Hitotoki NYC

Hitotoki, our person/place/moment literary experiment with Chin Music Press is taking on New York.

Why New York? In the end Hitotoki is about cities etching themselves into individuals. Tokyo makes quite a unique type of marking, which is why we started Hitotoki in the first place. New York seems to make a different type, but the marks are just as deep. New York is also a tough nut to crack for newcomers, and this toughness inspires a devotion not unlike that of foreigners who come to Tokyo.

Chris PalmieriAfter studying graphic design and Japanese language and aesthetics, Chris moved to Tokyo in 2001 to begin his design practice.
